double digits in months passed! 9/14

Well another month has passed. Our agency has recently upped the wait time for boys now too, to 18-24 months, with girls still being 24+ months. There are over 200 families on the wait list and with only 2-4 referrals a month, it will be a long while for those just getting on the list now.
I did manage to eat some Vietnamese this month. My sister was in town this last weekend and took us out to Vietnam Cafe by the KU Med Center, great place.

Another respite foster child

Last week from 9/1 to 9/8 we had a little 2 year old foster boy stay with us. He was here on Shawn's 3rd birthday and got to help celebrate. Shawn got along with him so well and he has been asking about him every day since he left. He wants his car seat back in the car and wants him to come over again. I'm still talking with his foster mom so hopefully we can get some playdates in the future. He was a sweetie.

Shawn is leading Jeffrey downstairs for us to go get some ice cream.

bunch of slackers, another parent ed meeting skipped 9/10

The meeting yesterday was on baby signing and we used that very successfully with Shawn, so although we do plan to use it with our daughter we feel we are 'old pros' at it and don't need to be reeducated about it. One of the Vietnam families out of the Kansas City office got a referral for a little boy last week so we did miss going to the meeting to see pictures of him, but hopefully we will see them next time.
